Exterior Advantages

Durability: The outside walls of the EduCrate™ are extremely sturdy.  Since the robust steel structure of the shipping containers is built to withstand the stress of stacking, loading and unloading, it holds up well in all kinds of conditions.  EduCrates will last longer than traditional modular classrooms.

Portability: The shipping container method moves 95% of the world’s goods, and shipping containers are built to travel by ship, train or truck.  (They do not require wide-load, and slow, delivery via flatbed tractor-trailer.) Therefore, they are easily transported to any location in the world.

The exterior advantages, overall, are:

   1. World-wide portability
   2. Standardized shape and size
   3. Easy transportation
   4. Low cost
   5. Robust steel structure (Durability of 20 years)
   6. Modular possibilities
   7. Stacking capabilities

Interior Advantages

Once opened, the recipient is rewarded with a carefully constructed classroom that contains everything 25 students and one teacher would need in order to resume instruction.  From the moment the box is delivered, a complete instructional environment is waiting for use.  It includes:

   1. Insulated paneling (looks better than Standard school walls)
   2. Interior environment that can be heated or cooled
   3. Chairs and desks that allow for any instructional configuration
   4. Windows and interior lighting
   5. Backpacks that are filled with supplies for each student (see Appendix A)

Students can literally walk in and start learning!
